Description
Mission
The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Housing Committee is a collaborative project that brings together a wide range of partners to monitor housing issues and opportunities in the region, identify the need for social and affordable housing, and develop collective housing solutions.
Objectives
- Support the development and maintenance of social and affordable housing
Promote access to housing and the improvement of living conditions
Improve communication and coordination between housing partners
Promote inter-sectoral cooperation within the territory.
Achievements
- Design and dissemination of housing tools.
- Organization of a networking luncheon for housing and accommodation stakeholders, in collaboration with the Comité Éclaireurs, in June 2024, with nearly 75 participants.
- Support for the creation of an NPO for the development of affordable housing in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, which became Toit d’Abord.
- Support for the creation of a tenants’ advocacy service in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, in collaboration with Comité Logement Valleyfield, resulting in the creation of Mon Logement, Mes Droits.

3-hour meeting, 9 times a year.
History
Faced with the housing crisis, the Table de développement social de Vaudreuil-Soulanges has created a working subcommittee in 2021 to discuss housing-related issues.
