Description

Mission

The Table promotes the coming together of Vaudreuil-Soulanges’ territorial forces, including partners, to improve the well-being, living conditions and services offered to English-speaking people in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

 

Objectives and mandates
  • Develop exchange and consultation between stakeholders.
  • Identify obstacles and challenges.
  • Initiate actions and projects aimed at improving quality of life and well-being.
  • Promote communication and the sharing of expertise between members.
  • Act as a consultative and influential body for decision-makers and elected officials in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC.
Ongoing projects and achievements
  • Representation on all Vaudreuil-Soulanges thematic roundtables
  • Organization of a biannual resource fair;
  • Organization of an annual youth gala;
  • Organization of a Partner Forum every 3 years;
  • Statutory meetings and Table representatives to monitor progress on various issues:
    • 6 tables de concertation;
    • Table territoriale de développement social durable de Vaudreuil-Soulanges;
    • Comité communication en développement social de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Requirements for Membership

Member qualification
Membership is open to any individual designated by their organization, including a community organization, an association, a public or para-public institution, a private organization, or a volunteer nominated by the members. This individual should wish to advocate for English-speaking people and have an interest in issues that affect this community.

 

Integration procedure
Any association, organization, or individual wishing to join the Table must meet with the current members to discuss their interests and contributions to the Table’s development and mission. After the presentation, the association, organization, or individual will be asked to leave the meeting so that the members can deliberate. If the decision is favourable, they will be invited to appoint a representative to join the Table.

 

Roles and responsibilities
The Table member must:

  • Be convinced of the importance of the Table and be actively involved in discussions and decision-making;
  • Participate actively in meetings, be punctual and assiduous;
  • Be committed to the various activities;
  • Define annual orientations;
  • Defend and promote the interests of English-speaking people;
  • Promote the Table’s objectives and activities;
  • Participate as needed in various working committees;
  • Report on the Table’s activities to their organization.
Meeting description

4 meetings per year, Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The meeting schedule is adopted at the last meeting of the year (late May/early June) or at the first meeting of the year in September. Meetings can be face-to-face or online via the Teams platform.
