Mission

La Table promotes the consolidation of local and regional forces aimed at partnerships between organizations to improve the well-being, living conditions and services offered to disabled people in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

 

Mandates
  • Foster communication and collaboration among stakeholders concerned with the situation of individuals with disabilities.
  • Identify specific obstacles and issues faced by people with disabilities.
  • Initiate actions and projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
  • Encourage communication and the sharing of expertise among members.
  • Serve as a consultative and influential body for decision-makers and elected officials in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC.
  • Promote and publicize the achievements of the Table.

4.1. Member qualification
Any person may be a member, duly designated by their organization, representing either a community organization, an association, a public or para-public institution, a private organization or a disabled person chosen and appointed by the members, wishing to speak on behalf of disabled persons and having an interest in issues affecting them.

 

4.2. Integration procedure
Any association, organization or individual wishing to join the Table must meet with current members and explain its interest and how it can contribute to the Table’s development and mission. Following the presentation, the association, organization or individual will be invited to leave the meeting so that Table members can deliberate. A letter will then be sent to the association, organization or person informing them of the decision. If the decision is positive, the association, organization or individual will be invited to delegate a member to the Table.

 

5. Roles and obligations
The Table member must:

  • Be convinced of the importance of the Table and be actively involved in discussions and decision-making;
  • Participate actively in meetings, be punctual and assiduous;
  • Be committed to the various activities;
  • Respect the operating rules;
  • Define annual orientations;
  • Defend and promote the interests of people with disabilities, not their personal interests or those of the organization they represent;
  • Promote the Table’s objectives and activities;
  • Participate in various working committees;
  • Report on the Table’s activities to their organization.
Meeting description

5 meetings per year, on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The meeting schedule is adopted at the last meeting of the year (late May to early June) or at the first meeting of the year in September. Meetings can be face-to-face or online via the Teams platform.
